Yiannis Nova Dorakis This almost breakbeat techno EP shows some pure love to the early nineties sound. The piano stamped acid future retro funk of Ennio Styles Remix breaks the similarity of the release and offers the best track. Favorite track: RD6Q#S0119GF (Ennio Styles Remix).

John Bailey A heavy banger from a couple of Melbourne legends > Juxtapose's introducing his Wu Kush moniker and Ennio Styles flipping it the right way. Filthy! Favorite track: RD6Q#S0119GF (Ennio Styles Remix).

about

Colin Dale 'Fantastic sound, this is rockin'. 5/5'
Tom Long (Process/Motortechno) 'Lovely electro-ey stuff.'
+ support from Moxie, Danny Tenaglia, Nathan Jonson (Hrdvsion) and Johannes Volk.

Melbourne producer Juxtpose returns to Heard and Felt with more 'machine funk futurism' (Thump's description of his previous release for the label). This time, he's announcing the revivial of his childhood nickname, Wu Kush, as his outlet for more offbeat, housey and groove-oriented tracks. While putting the finishing touches to a number of new releases for Heard and Felt, he's starting out with this digital-only EP.

The sound is rough, ready and direct, full of analogue bass, bleeps and dirty drums. It references the 90s period when techno producers were taking their sounds beyond the traditional 'four to the floor' kick drum groove and finding new fans amongst breakbeat, trip hop and even adventurous jazz DJs. Equally comfortable alongside the next generation of post-dubstep offbeat techno, it's fitting that Juxtpose has found DJ support from the likes of Martyn and Roska, as well as Deep Space Helsinki, Stacey Pullen, Slam, Colin Dale, Fish Go Deep and Horse Meat Disco.

Following on from Opolopo's new jack swing/boogie remix of previous single Technometry, label boss Ennio Styles adds an 80s touch to his new remix, including house piano chords, acid lines, orchestral stabs and talkbox courtesy of Swedish producer/breakdancer Temu.
